VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENTS-National Staff
The West African Examinations Council as one of Africa’s foremost examining body was established by law and mandated to determine examinations required in the public interest in the English-speaking West African countries, to conduct such examinations and to award certificates comparable to those of equivalent examining authorities internationally. The Banjul Office of the Council has a number of vacancies and hereby invites applications from suitably qualified Gambians to fill the following positions:-
ASSISTANT EXAMINATIONS OFFICERS (4 POSITIONS)
SUBJECT AREAS
(1) Home Science
(2) French
(3) Arabic/Islamic Studies
(4) Christian Religious Education
(A) Eligibility Criteria
· Applicants must hold a good Higher Teachers Certificate or a Higher Diploma in Education with at least five WASSCE Credits including English and Mathematics and at least three years post qualification teaching or administrative experience.
· Applicants must not be more than Forty (40) years of age;
· Knowledge of computing will be an advantage.
(B) Desirable Attributes
Applicants must:-
· Have high level of integrity and reliability;
· Have demonstrated leadership ability;
· Have excellent writing skills;
· Be computer literate;
· Have good organizational and co-ordination skills and be result-oriented;
· Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
· Be a good team player
(C) Specific Duties and Responsibilities
· Successful Candidates will be assigned duties in the Test Development or Test Administration Departments.
· Partake in pre, during and post examination activities.
· Production of daily reports as may be required.
· Assist in the supervision of staff.
· Carry out any other duty as may be assigned by HNO, Ag. Head, TDD and TAD or any other Senior Officer (s).
· Demonstrate high degree of integrity, confidentiality, and reliability.
